Let the Countdown Begin...

This morning my husband and I watched our daughter, Jessica leave for school for the last time. Where has the time gone? As we came inside I asked him if her remembered her first day of school. We made the choice for Jessica to be home schooled at that time and it was a year that I will never forget. There she was this little 5 year-old girl with a pony tail all dressed up in her jean shorts and t-shirt. I have a picture of her sitting at our kitchen table for her first day of kindergarten with this quirky smile on her face.

We both made it through that first year of school and it is a time that I will never take back or regret doing. A lot was learned that year... for both of us.

There has been a lot of recollections these past few weeks of all the "firsts" and "lasts". I am storing up a lot of memories these days and trying not to be too emotional. Not that I have the tendency to do that or anything.

Today, Jessica we celebrate with you. All that you have accomplished and most of all for who you are. We love you so very much! You have done well my sweet girl.

Countdown to graduation... 3 days!!!

You've been on my heart...and in my mind the past month as you've been preparing for Jessica's graduation.

You've been an AMAZING example of Godly parents who have taught your daughter well in the Lord. You've given her the tools she's needed to grow, and mature into a BEAUTIFUL young lady.

For 18 years you've nurtured, loved, guided, protected, and disciplined....and now...she's ready to take these disciplines...spread her wings, and fly.

A new season of your life is JUST beginning...and rest in knowing that God's word is true.

    Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) says,

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God has AMAZING plans for sweet Jessica....and know that although you will NOT always be able to be near her...our Heavenly Father is...and he's preparing and paving the way....for the great adventure called, "LIFE" that he's set before Jessica.

I'll be thinking about you....(and praying too:-)....throughtout the rest of this week.

    You done good Momma!! ;-)

    Kim~

  10. I can't even imagine being in your shoes and watching one of my little ones fly the nest like Jessica is about to do. I hope, when my turn comes, that I'll handle it with as much grace as you are doing!

    Congrats to Jessica!!!
