Where I Am...

I seem to be at a loss for words lately so when that happens I suppose I resort to posts about food or decorating. It's easy, simple and I don't have to think too much. Our family has been busy these last few weeks and I am looking forward to the end of the school year coming to an end. I'm ready for the rest and relaxation that summer days bring. At the same time, the end of the school year means that Jessica's graduation is quickly approaching and her time here at home is getting less and less. As much as I want to hold on to her forever, letting go is just around the corner. As of today, she has only 19 days of school left. But who's counting?

I've also had some real heart to heart moments with God and many things are becoming a lot more clear to me. I'm sure once I am able to put all my thoughts into words I will do so here. He is making Himself known to me in the everyday moments and I am clinging to Him and allowing Him to make me into the woman He wants me to be. I have gotten involved at a local faith-based organization where I am serving breakfast to the homeless, poor, and those in need once a week as well. More on that later too I'm sure. I'm also beginning a new Bible study tonight and I always get excited about that. It's that first day of school feeling except I know that I am going to have friends to sit next to and what I'm wearing really doesn't matter. I'm going to be co-leading this study for the next six weeks with not only my mentor, but one of my dearest friends. All I can say is that it's been nothing other than God's perfect plan in bringing this group of women together. I couldn't be more excited to be spending time with these women and I am anticipating God to draw our hearts closer to Him and that we come away loving Him more.

So with that being said because remember I am at a loss for words, I thought I would share this simple and yummy treat with you...

All you need is a chocolate cupcake, butter pecan ice cream (or your favorite flavor), caramel sauce, and chopped pecans. Really, there are so many ways that you could serve this... the possibilities are endless. Be creative and enjoy!

Now you know that if my posts are random and few that I am still here. I'm just going to be a little more busy in the days to come and focusing on the things that matter the most to me.

  3. Good Morning,
What a special time you are having with the Lord. He has recently redirected my steps and is teaching me even more about Himself in the process. Very similar to your involvement with volunteering. Mine is working with the elderly.
My heart and prayers are with you as you walk through the end of the school year and approach changes. Being a mom, I too want to hold on to now and not let it slip by. Our children grow and change so quickly.
    Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

  6. I too have been at a lose of words and very busy with the realities of every day life. We are also anticipating graduation here in our house and having done it once before I am now even more aware of the things I want to do and say before my daughter heads into this next chapter of her life. Blogging will wait while we savor these days and a little recipe never hurt as a fill in! Have a great day! :)

  7. Sitting on the sidelines, I have been amazed, blessed, inspired and reminded of God's hand in your life and what HE wants to accomplish.
Counting down the days with you. I don't even want to think about when September comes!!!

  9. Christy,
I can so relate. Sometimes I am just at a loss for words. I had been absent from posting in blogland for sometime. I too think it's because at this time it's just too difficult to be words to my thoughts. But God is showing Himself in mighty ways to me too! I am so glad I am not travelling this journey alone. Our circumstance might be different, but the One who is the same is our LORD! He is with us!

I will say a prayer for you as you begin your Bible study. Our study group meets tonight! I can't wait to see and hear what the Lord has done in the lives of my fellow sojourners this week!

God Bless you and your precious time w/ your precious daughter!

    Love
    ~K

  10. I love this recipe - even I can do this!

Isn't it just the best thing when God speaks to us! Oh, how I long just to hear Him.

  11. Christy~ I totally get posting "easy" things when life gets busy and thoughts aren't easily sorted out. I'm doing the same thing right now. :-)

But we love your ideas and enjoy hearing from you when you can post.

I'm praying for you about the upcoming life changes with Jessica. May the Lord strengthen you and carry you, and make every little wonderful detail be burned in your memory to savor forever.
