My Journey

There has been a lot going on in my heart this week. I've been praying so hard for an awakening of my soul and to know and love the Lord like never before. He is answering because of this truth... He is a God that revives the heart. A verse that I have been memorizing and meditating on is "Break up your fallowed ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till his righteousness comes and rains upon you. " (Hosea 10:12). I've spent this week breaking up some hard and barren ground in my spiritual life and as a result, I am experiencing a special time of refreshment that can only be found in His presence.

These last two years have been a very difficult season for me. I've asked a lot of God because there was so much I didn't understand. I've spent some time in the desert, trodded along in the wilderness, and am now continuing my traveling to the land He has promised me. What I'm able to accept is that there is a divine purpose for where I've been. I just couldn't see it or believe it.

As I was journaling the other night, God revealed something very significant to me. It's one of those things that I thought I knew, but I suppose it needed to be real and fresh to me again. It was a moment of not just knowing God, but experiencing Him.

When the time is right, I know I will be sharing more. There is still a lot of heart work going on and it's all part of my journey.

  1. I LOVE this scripture:

"Break up your fallowed ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till his righteousness comes and rains upon you. " (Hosea 10:12

Praying that as God BREAKS up the fallowed ground...you see it as what is necessary....and as you break...the rain of his Holy Spirit will pour upon your life in such a powerful way...and you will see HIM...in a new fresh way.

    Praying for you..on HIS journey.

  3. Wow! I can really relate! I love the way that God uses the scripture that we are memorizing and makes it so fresh in the moments that we really need to hear it.

  4. I am so thankful for your heart revelation. Praying that He continues to "break up the fallowed ground" in your life. May your eyes, ears and heart be fully opened to receive all that He has for you!

  5. I am so grateful to have read this today as I am going down the same road...I even blogged about it this morning. Thank you for adding more verses to my list of encouraging verses...which includes Psalm 51:12.

  6. i can so relate to your thoughts and i appreciate your candor and openness to share, even a glimpse of where you are.
i've also been walking through a darker season; a time of struggle and difficulty and lack of understanding. and there are moments when i feel the layers peeling back; where i can see that this is lifting and i am turning the corner. and what i am coming to know FOR SURE is that GOD is using this time to draw me to Him; to bring me to a place of *desperation* for Him. for many years, i have been walking in contentment and joy ... life is good, i'm married to my dream man, have so much to be thankful for. and so i can see now that i wasn't as hungry for Him ... and now, my peace and refuge is in knowing Him, studying His Word, applying truth and His promises to my life.
    Praise Him!
and can i share that kelli's post about psalm 51 is so timely; in my bible study ("deeper still" from beth moore, priscilla shirer, and kay arthur) we are looking at that very psalm this week and i learned: david wrote it during his time of crisis/deep sin with bathsheba. and what i love? that david so knew His LORD that he boldly asked and expected so many things ( a pure heart, contentment, healing, refreshment, so much) ... after repenting, he came expectant. i love that!
