A NEW Beginning...

These last 6 weeks have been a very exciting time in our family. It has also been a time of change and transition and as I sit here this morning, I am in complete awe of how God's hand has covered, guided, supported, and moved us to where we are.

A dear friend of mine recently sent me a text saying, " Your journey has been long. You fought, prayed, trusted much, and you are now on the shores of your Promised Land."

Tomorrow a moving truck will be sitting in our driveway where we will load all of our belongings to fill a new home.

A new home in the south... Alabama.

My husband will be serving as lead pastor at a church in the area and as we have gone through this process, we have been completely overwhelmed with His timing and provision. We have taken what at times seemed like such small and insignificant steps, but as we have walked and trusted, they have been taken with so much faith and trust. In the end, aren't they often the ones that count the most?

My husband has reminded me and our children that the very best place to be is in the center of His will. I wouldn't be honest if I didn't say that this journey hasn't been hard and tiring. Even in the midst of the doubt or fear that sometimes crept in, I have known His peace in a way I never knew before. In many ways, I clearly see how He has prepared my heart for the new and exciting changes.

While we were in the middle of preparing for a new job and a move, our daughter, Jessica moved to her new home in Australia where she is attending Hillsong. She has made quite a journey these last couple of years as well. It's been a journey of waiting, trusting, pursuing and seeking hard after God. This is her time to grow and experience some amazing things and I couldn't be more proud or excited for her.

Last year, I claimed and held onto the verse Isaiah 43:18-19...

"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

Promised Land... here we come!

  3. So happy for you guys! I put as my FB status yesterday, "Lots of transition & change means you don’t have a choice but to be desperately shaped & molded by the Holy Spirit." We have been going through a lot of changes as well, and this week has been an especially difficult, stressful, & emotional period. But as painful as it can be to be "shaped & molded by the Holy Spirit", it is always a blessing. And as you said, God provides incredible peace in the midst of it all. Know tfat we're praying for you, We love you, and are going to miss you more than you know. Keep us posted on the amazing things that God is doing in your family's lives!

  4. As we have gone through years and tears during our roller coaster transition period, we too are excited and thrilled to welcome the Pelts in leadership at HIS church of New Beginnings. An appropriate name -Genesis- for such a time as this. Even more so we embrace them as family already and know that relationship will bring much healing to the body of Christ. Much love and prayers as you crank up to ROLL this way. Christy just to get you in the real southern think tank--- it's not south Alabama. It's LA- lower Alabama --- smiles. Love you much. 5. Sweet friend...I'm TRULY over the moon excited for you and the "next" that God is beginning to unfold.

I've truly been blessed and count it pure joy to have prayed for you while you've traveled this journey.

Please know that you will be MUCH on my heart tomorrow as you load up a life time of memories....travel to a new home...and begin yet another life time of memories.

There is NOTHING like serving God and his people....and I know God has an amazing plan for you, your family and your church family.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....your journey has truly given me hope...that SOON, I'll be sharing the same testimony...that my feet have landed on the shore of our 'promise land.'

Remember..."for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord"

    And..oh are they amazing plans.

Continue to rest in him as he WILL give you strength for the days and weeks ahead as you make this transition.
