Like chocolate chip cookies after school.
Holding hands at the dinner table and thanking God for His provision and care.
A good book.
The sound of rain hitting the rooftop and the roll of thunder off in the distance.
Sending the boys off to school with a hug and "I love you".
The morning phone call with my sister.
Having my husband go to the grocery store this morning just so I don't have to go out in the rain.
My daughter's smile.
I'm linking up to Tuesday's Unwrapped with Emily @ Chatting at the Sky.
Sweet! Just thought about the million small things my mother did for me as I wrote a tribute to her this morning. God Bless! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder. You are absolutely right. It is the little things and bless our lives.

Love the feel of your blog - so calming! I'm so glad you linked up. Would you mind re-linking using the permalink to this post rather than simply your blog address? Here is the address you are to use: http://hereandhome.blogspot.com/2010/05/its-little-things.html
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
I agree. How can you not be thankful for chocolate chip cookies?
ReplyDeleteI love all the simple things too...and those cookies look so good!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photograph!
I love that you recognize how important the morning phone call with your sister. My sister and I talked lots during the week, but ALWAYS on Saturday mornings. Sadly, a few years ago at age 49, she died suddenly of a heart attack. I still find myself going to the phone to call her.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a lovely way to start the day. Thank you for the post. It truly is the simple things.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. Yes, it's good to relish the simple things.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

the homecoming of a college kid! :)
ReplyDeleteChristy, if I credit you, can I steal this pic? My mom and Seth made chocolate chip cookies yesterday, but juggling Erin...I didn't get a good pic, and I'd love to do a post on the day.
ReplyDeletePS -- glad you had a great Tuesday. xoxox
Great post! So very important to stop and savor our sweet everyday blessings. (I've even considered making a post like this a regular feature on mine.) There is much to be said for living with a grateful heart!
