molasses crinkles make the house smell the most wonderful.
And they taste the best with a glass of milk.
Molasses Crinkles~
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/3 cup white sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, mix together brown sugar, oil, molasses, and egg. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger; stir into the molasses mixture. Roll dough into balls and then roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8-9 minutes for a soft cookie or 10-12 minutes for a crisp cookie.
Cool on wire racks.
Mmmm! They look delicious! Will you share the recipe? :)
ReplyDeleteThey are the BEST aren't they? And your dad's favorite too! I wish I was there to smell them! ( and eat a few too!)
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE these cookies. I want to make them!!! Any special tips?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christy, for sharing the recipe! They sound yummy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this recipe! You are such a good homemaker! I wish I were more "homemaker-ish" like you - with your baking and special things you do. But instead, I'm more a "break and bake" cookie kind of girl...Which kind of sums up all of my homemaking skills... Maybe one of these days... :-)
ReplyDeleteLove to you, Christy! I thank God for crossing our paths, and am so glad that we got to meet face to face this year. I continue to pray for you and your family...
Jen
Hope your Crisco was unspoiled. ;)

These were one of the first cookies I learned to bake as a child. mmmm. I'd forgotten about them. Yours looks so yummy!
