Thank you!

I want to thank all of you who lifted our family, especially my sister Sarah and her husband, up in prayer yesterday. You have touched our hearts and have displayed much love and encouragement. Thank you so very much.

The recipe I am sharing today is called BLT salad or in our family, That Good Salad. For the last eight years or so, some of our good friends have been getting together around Christmas time for an annual dinner. Last year, this particular salad was served. It is by far one of the best salads I've ever had. I make it ALOT for our family because my children absolutely love it. I hope you enjoy it too!

BLT SALAD otherwise known as THAT GOOD SALAD~

3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
2 bunches romaine lettuce (I actually use 1/2 romaine and 1/2 leaf lettuce)
2 c. chopped tomatoes
1 c. shredded swiss
1/2 c. shredded parmesan
8 bacon slices, cooked and cut into pieces
croutons

Combine oil, lemon, garlic, salt & pepper in a jar w/ a tight lid. Shake well. Chill.
Layer remaining ingredients in a salad bowl. Pour dressing over salad when ready to serve. Toss salad before serving.

Have a wonderful Friday!

  1. Thanks for the recipe. I will definitely try it! I love recipes that survive the years, and are used again and again as crowd pleasers... so I will take your word for it, and try it!

  3. Hi Christy!
I saw your comment on Lelia's blog, and I just wanted to encourage you to sign up for the online study of Behind Those Eyes. I'd love for you to join in! I wanted to give away a free book to someone who guessed the name of the original title of Behind Those Eyes (you can go to my blog at www.lisawhittle.blogspot.com to read more), but no one guessed it. So now I feel the tug to offer that free book to you. I feel like God led me here to you today, so if you you're interested, please email me at info@lisawhittle.com and send me an address to send the book to, I will!

    Be blessed today, Christy!
    Lisa :)

  11. Hey, Christy! Thanks so much for visting my blog! Your comment was so sweet. I can't wait to try your salad recipe--sounds yummy!

I read your sister's blog and wept. Sixteen yesrs ago, my little sister lost Emily Elizbeth at birth. Although the pain ran deep, God's love and comfort overcame the grief. The outpouring of love was of Him. He was how we got through. He has since blessed her and her husband with a daughter and a son. HE is so good!! Please give your darling sister a hug when you see her! Where in Tn. does she live? My inlaws are in Seymour--right outside of Knoxville.

I hope that your weekend is jsut wonderful! Your blog is awesome, and I will be back to visit!!
    Blessings,
    Susan
